Product Description
The Hermod tray is Underflod's first, unique product. The design is original and inspired by the characteristic long bows of Viking ships, while the name comes from the messengers of the Æsir in Norse mythology.
The tray is made from local recycled materials from Funen. The wood for the tray comes from recycling stations and Red Cross shops, while the aluminum is the purest type of aluminum you can get, and is at least 90 percent recycled.
The circular production ensures a low consumption of resources and energy, and the Hermod tray is also produced by hand in social economic workshops locally in Denmark.
Via the certificate on the tray, you can also always trace where we got the wood for your Hermod tray, which gives each tray a completely unique character and expression.

The Story of the Hermod Serving Tray
The Hermod tray is Underflod's first unique product. The serving tray is created with a focus on Danish design, circular economy, and good craftsmanship. The original design is inspired by the distinctive long bows of Viking ships, while the name Hermod comes from Norse mythology.
The serving tray is made from recycled materials from Funen. The wood for the Hermod tray is collected from recycling centres and Red Cross shops, giving each product its own story and expression. The aluminium is of the purest possible quality and consists of a minimum of 90% recycled aluminium.
The circular production ensures low resource and energy consumption, and each Hermod tray is handmade in social economic workshops in Denmark. This means you get a serving tray that is both responsibly produced and created with care for people and the environment.
Our design process starts with taking leftover materials that are no longer used for their original purpose. Our task is to analyze the material's potential and explore how it can be transformed into a functional and value-creating product for our customers. This process takes place in collaboration with social workshops, where both the properties of the material and the skills of the employees at the social economic workshops are incorporated. The goal is to optimize the utilization of materials and promote human resources, creating added value on multiple levels.
