Use a small wooden cutting board for everyday tasks

A small wooden cutting board is the perfect tool for everyday tasks in the kitchen. It's quick to get out, easy to clean, and suitable for everything from fruit and vegetables to cutting meat or bread. Its compact size means it doesn't take up much space on the counter or in the drawer, making cooking more efficient and manageable. At the same time, the natural texture of the wood adds a warm and inviting touch to the kitchen, even when it's just waiting to be used.

Underflod cutting boards made from recycled oak

At Underflod, we distance ourselves from overconsumption and instead reuse materials for timeless products that can last for generations. That's why all our cutting boards and tapas boards are made from recycled wood from the Danish furniture industry. When kitchens are produced, holes are cut in the countertops for sinks - and we use these offcuts to create beautiful, durable cutting boards. In this way, we give material that would otherwise be discarded new life as practical and aesthetic kitchen tools.

Small wooden cutting board for bread

We have two variants of our cutting board; one is made with grooves across the entire surface, which catches crumbs when slicing bread. This makes it easier to keep the kitchen clean during cooking, as it prevents crumbs from spreading all over the counter. The small cutting board measures 25 x 35 cm, and is perfect for rolls or baguettes. We also have a larger variant, if you need to cut French bread or other baked goods.

Small wooden cutting board for meat

The other variant of our cutting boards is designed for meat. The board features a clever juice groove along the edge, which collects juices so they don't run onto the table, making cooking and cleaning easier. The cutting board can, of course, also be used for other juicy foods such as fruits or vegetables. We also offer a large cutting board, perfect for roasts or other larger cuts of meat.

Small wooden cutting boards for serving

All our cutting boards have a smooth side, which is ideal for small servings. They can be used for tapas, instead of a normal tapas board, or for serving a nice cake or sushi.

How to maintain a small wooden cutting board

The cutting board should be cleaned with water and soap, then dried thoroughly. It's a good idea to lean it against a wall so it can air dry further. It should be regularly treated with cooking oil; we recommend rapeseed or sunflower oil to maintain its beautiful color. If olive oil is used, the board may acquire an undesirable dark color.

Gifted a small wooden cutting board

The small cutting board also makes an ideal gift. With its multifunctional design and natural wood, it enhances the kitchen's aesthetic and fits beautifully into any home. Wrap it in cellophane and give it as a lovely and practical gift to someone you care about.
