A little about our social work
At Underflod, we believe in a better future and in creating a positive change in society, and that is why we collaborate with social economic workshops in Denmark.
When we started flood in 2021, we rented an old window workshop on Kærsgaard Gods. However, we had to admit that we are better designers than manufacturers. We therefore decided to outsource the production to experts who could make the products better than we could ourselves. We investigated the market for local producers and chose to go with the Correctional Service and social economic workshops.
We therefore started in May 2022, a collaboration with Nr. Snede prison and Odense Værkstederne, which is an institution that employs disabled citizens in Odense Municipality and it is they who are responsible for producing our products today. It not only provides a circular economy, but it also provides work and experience for some of the more vulnerable groups in society. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to develop and create something positive for themselves and others.
We have a close collaboration with the prisons and focus on training the inmates in wood production. We have just been approved for collaboration on larger projects and development processes, where we develop products together with the inmates. They must help draw and design and be involved in the entire process around product development. We want to include their ideas and creativity in the process.
Underflood's products are more than just beautiful and functional. They are the result of a joint effort to create something good in society. And it is an effort we are proud to be a part of. We hope you will join us on this journey and support our desire to create a more inclusive future.
