At Underflod, we are incredibly keen to highlight the collaboration between Underflod and Noeje, where we helped them create their unique art frame, VERK.
Noeje is a company that produces sculptural, simple, and beautiful design objects, while sharing our vision of creating a more circular future in the production of new products.
Noeje's art frame is designed based on circular principles with the desire to use residual wood from their own production, which made the collaboration with Underflod an obvious choice. Our vision of recycling materials and giving residual materials new life in the form of new products goes hand in hand with Noeje's vision of creating circular Danish design in collaboration with local artists and artisans. VERK is designed by Danish furniture designer Mikkel Toftgaard Frandsen.

A collaboration with a shared vision for a circular economy
The collaboration between Underflod and Noeje began with a shared understanding of the importance of the circular economy. With the desire to find a partner who could produce the art frame in Denmark and based on circular principles, Noeje reached out to us. We are incredibly happy that Noeje made the initial contact, allowing us to be part of this project. We always feel a bit proud when we can share our visions and production capabilities with other companies.
"The collaboration with Underflod has been a crucial factor in the development of our art frame VERK. Their expertise in producing and recycling materials, as well as their understanding of our vision, has resulted in a well-executed product that is not only beautiful and functional, but also reflects our shared goal of contributing to a more circular agenda within the furniture and lifestyle industry."

Underflod's role in the process
Underflod's role throughout the process has been to share our experience and allocate our resources, which made it possible to reuse Noeje's own residual wood in the production phase. We have contributed our production chain, which also means that the wooden frames are manufactured with great care in Danish prisons. The residual wood used for the art frame comes from Danish forests, where each plank has been allowed to retain its natural characteristics with knots and beautiful grain patterns. This makes the art frame a unique natural product, where no two are alike. This has an incredible charm and these are also qualities we highly value in our own products.
The result was the simple and aesthetic art frame: VERK
The result of the collaboration is the VERK frame, an elegant art frame that highlights artworks in a light and refined way. Each frame is unique, made from Noeje's residual wood and with a story that reflects both Underflod's and Noeje's commitment to the circular economy.
The VERK frame has received a positive reception in the market, and the collaboration with Noeje has been an inspiring experience for Underflod. It has strengthened our belief that circular and aesthetic solutions can go hand in hand, and we look forward to more such collaborations in the future.
