Noeje
Together for a circular economy: A value-creating collaboration between Noeje and Underflod
At Underflod, we would very much like to highlight the collaboration between Underflod and Noeje, where we have helped them create their unique art frame, VERK.
Noeje is a company that produces design objects that are sculptural, simple and beautiful to look at, while also sharing our vision of creating a more circular future in the production of new products.
Neje's art frame is designed based on circular principles with the desire to use residual wood from own production, which made the collaboration with Underflod an obvious choice. Our vision of recycling materials and giving residual materials new life in the form of new products goes hand in hand with Noeje's vision of creating circular Danish design in collaboration with local artists and craftsmen. VERK is designed by the Danish furniture designer Mikkel Toftgaard Frandsen.
WORK
The art frame, VERK, is designed to highlight wall art in a light and elegant way, where the frame with the two acrylic sheets frees the work from the wall. This creates a very special incidence of light and a beautiful staging of your artwork.
Underflod is particularly proud to be able to present this product from Noeje, as the frames are carefully manufactured at Underflod's production with a focus on social responsibility and circularity. The wooden frame is made from Noeje's own leftover wood and is produced in Danish prisons.
VERK can be used for art prints and posters in various sizes, e.g. A4 and A3, depending on which expression you want.
A collaboration with a shared vision of a circular economy
The collaboration between Underflod and Noeje was initiated with a common understanding of the importance of circular economy. With the desire to find a collaboration partner who could produce the art frame in Denmark and based on circular principles, Noeje reached out to us. We are incredibly happy that Noeje made the initial contact so that we could become part of this project. We always feel a little proud when we can share our visions and production possibilities with other companies.
"The collaboration with Underflod has been a decisive factor in the development of our art frame VERK. Their expertise in producing and recycling materials, as well as their understanding of our vision, has resulted in a finished product that is not only beautiful and functional, but also reflects our common goal of contributing to a more circular agenda within furniture and the lifestyle industry.”

The role of flooding in the process
Underflod's role in the whole process has been to share our experience and allocate our resources, which has made it possible to reuse Noeje's own residual wood in the production phase. We have contributed with our production chain, which also means that the wooden frames are manufactured with great care in Danish prisons. The remaining wood used for the art frame comes from Danish forests, where each plank has been allowed to retain its natural characteristics with knots and beautiful grain patterns. This makes the art frame a unique natural product, where no two are alike. This has an incredible charm about it and is also a quality we value highly in our own products.
The result was the simple and aesthetic art frame: WORK
The result of the collaboration is the VERK frame, an elegant art frame that highlights works of art in a light and refined way. Each frame is unique, made from Noeje's residual wood and with a story that reflects both Underflod's and Noeje's commitment to the circular economy.
The VERK frame has received a positive reception on the market, and the collaboration with Noeje has been an inspiring experience for Underflod. It has strengthened our belief that circular and aesthetic solutions can go hand in hand, and we look forward to more such collaborations in the future.
