Product description

The idea for our coasters arose from the fact that we had a lot of table legs left over when we received recycled wood for our serving trays, which primarily comes from discarded tabletops and recycled furniture from the recycling stations in Middelfart.

These table legs had a nice contour and were of such good quality that they had to be used for something. So we went to the workshop and thought of cutting the table legs into slices as if it were rye bread - and the shape of our coasters came about.

Subsequently, they are treated with natural oil and are water resistant so you can be sure that you will get a high-quality product that is both beautiful and practical.

A set contains 6 pcs.

Designfilosofi

At Underflod, we believe in products without excess. Design should be simple, functional, and created with consideration for both the material and the everyday life it will be a part of.

We love honest materials, clean lines, and thoughtful details that give the products their own character without shouting. For us, good design is not just about how a product looks, but also how it works, feels, and is used in the home.

Therefore, we develop and select products that can find a natural place in everyday life and retain their value over time. Every product should contain a story about the idea, the materials, and the people who have been involved in creating it.

Produceret i Danmark

When we develop our own products, we often start with materials that already exist. Several of the products are made, among other things, from leftover wood from Danish furniture production. The wood may be left over from the production of larger pieces of furniture, but it still has quality, character, and many years of life in it.

Instead of letting the material go to waste, we give it a new function. Offcuts and surplus pieces can, for example, be transformed into serving trays, cutting boards, knife holders, and coat racks for the home.

Production takes place in close collaboration with skilled Danish manufacturers and workshops. Some of our products are made in social enterprises, where fine craftsmanship goes hand in hand with meaningful working communities.

In this way, production is not only about the finished product, but also about the journey of the materials, the hands behind them, and the desire to create something new based on the resources we already have.
